Jordan vs. Algeria
at 20Twenty, Willow Glen
Algerian couscous, Jordanian mansaf, and a hand-picked flight of North African wines. One night. Two flags. Unmissable.
A Taste of North Africa and the Levant
Below are wines and dishes from each country playing that we think are worth exploring — whether you're building a watch-party menu at home or just curious about what the world's tables look like. These are inspiration, not a 20Twenty special menu; our regular menu and wine list will be running as usual.
Jordan
A Wine Worth Trying
A rare bottling from Jordan's St. George estate, plus our house karkadeh (hibiscus iced tea) for a non-alcoholic pour.
A Classic Dish to Explore
Jordan's national dish: lamb braised in jameed yogurt, served over rice with toasted almonds. Served alongside a mezze platter of hummus, muhammara, labneh, and warm pita.
Algeria
A Wine Worth Trying
A surprising North African red from Algeria's historic wine region — full-bodied, earthy, and perfect with spiced lamb.
A Classic Dish to Explore
Fluffy semolina with slow-cooked merguez, lamb, chicken, and seven vegetables in saffron broth. Finished with a drizzle of harissa-infused olive oil.
What to expect on match day.
We'll have the match on. Reservations are strongly recommended for tables of four or more, especially around popular kickoff times. If your party is 10 or more, call us directly at (408) 293-7574 and we'll make sure you're set. Our regular menu, wine list, and happy hour will all be running — come hungry, and ask our team what's on tap that'd pair well with whichever side you're rooting for.
The rest of the schedule.
Opening weekend. Swiss wines you've never heard of, Qatari spice, and a full-course game day at 20Twenty.
Grüner Veltliner meets mansaf. A late-night watch party with Austrian schnitzel, Jordanian mezze, and a sommelier-curated wine flight.
The UEFA Playoff C winner (Türkiye, Romania, Slovakia, or Kosovo) takes on Paraguay. Expect South American grilled meats, European wines, and late-summer energy.
Australian Shiraz. Paraguayan asado. A summer Thursday that ends with a winning toast.
A Round of 32 match at Levi's Stadium — one of the higher-stakes games of the tournament, on the screens in Willow Glen. A great excuse to pull together a global watch-party spread at home: one wine and one dish from every country we've featured this month.
