Qatar vs. Switzerland
at 20Twenty, Willow Glen
Opening weekend. Swiss wines you've never heard of, Qatari spice, and a full-course game day at 20Twenty.
The World Cup Kicks Off in the Bay
Below are wines and dishes from each country playing that we think are worth exploring — whether you're building a watch-party menu at home or just curious about what the world's tables look like. These are inspiration, not a 20Twenty special menu; our regular menu and wine list will be running as usual.
Qatar
A Wine Worth Trying
Cardamom-spiced qahwa, karak chai, and a hibiscus karkadeh — a thoughtful alcohol-free offering for our Qatari guests.
A Classic Dish to Explore
The national dish. Aromatic spiced rice with slow-braised lamb, cardamom, loomi (dried lime), and saffron. Served with a side of warak enab (stuffed grape leaves).
Switzerland
A Wine Worth Trying
Switzerland exports less than 2% of its wine — which means you've probably never had one. A crisp, mineral-driven white from alpine vineyards.
A Classic Dish to Explore
Melted raclette over cornichons and potatoes, plus a classic Gruyère and Emmentaler fondue for two. Cured bündnerfleisch on the side.
What to expect on match day.
We'll have the match on. Reservations are strongly recommended for tables of four or more, especially around popular kickoff times. If your party is 10 or more, call us directly at (408) 293-7574 and we'll make sure you're set. Our regular menu, wine list, and happy hour will all be running — come hungry, and ask our team what's on tap that'd pair well with whichever side you're rooting for.
The rest of the schedule.
Grüner Veltliner meets mansaf. A late-night watch party with Austrian schnitzel, Jordanian mezze, and a sommelier-curated wine flight.
The UEFA Playoff C winner (Türkiye, Romania, Slovakia, or Kosovo) takes on Paraguay. Expect South American grilled meats, European wines, and late-summer energy.
Algerian couscous, Jordanian mansaf, and a hand-picked flight of North African wines. One night. Two flags. Unmissable.
Australian Shiraz. Paraguayan asado. A summer Thursday that ends with a winning toast.
A Round of 32 match at Levi's Stadium — one of the higher-stakes games of the tournament, on the screens in Willow Glen. A great excuse to pull together a global watch-party spread at home: one wine and one dish from every country we've featured this month.
Reserve your table for Qatar vs. Switzerland.
